On World Aids Day, 1st December 2018, we hosted an event to think about remembrance of those affected by the disease. We were delighted to welcome Professor Matt Cook of Birkbeck, University of London, and Ross Horsley, of the West Yorkshire Queer Stories project, to speak about their research. Both reflected on the often marginalised and hidden histories of LGBPTQ* people, and Matt discussed the political nature of remembrance of the dead in the wake of the AIDS crisis in the 198os and 1990s.

Matt Cook's talk, 'Archives of Feeling: AIDS in the UK c.1987' is available to listen to below. You can also read more about his work in his recent article for History Workshop Journal.
